Jacqui,
Good to see your blog. It's one of the first steps taken to raise awareness about your oranization and its concerns.
If you'd like to continue using internet to reach your audience, I strongly recommend this book: The New Rules of Marketing & PR, by David Scott. It's more from a business buy-and-sell perspective, but I've found it very helpful for NGOs, too.
I am totally impressed with you , you are a nice lady, just be like this and keep posts like this coming.

Women of color united is more than just a network to fight discrimination against women. It also engages in human rights and social change movements. Issues like this remind me of blackplanet.com/99ProblemsDotorg. We need more committed individuals to educated people about the problems we are facing.

Poverty is not unusual for almost all of us. But if we'll work hard, we can avoid ourselves from being poor. There are also options that we can choose if just in case we need money like loaning. This is such a great help for everyone, even businessmen have loans.
I agree with this. Just to share with you guys..Because of financial problems, me and my family were forced to move to a smaller town just because we can't afford to pay the rent in our old house.
Very catchy title and Very catchy title and powerful content. The poem by Ms Nkutha is very moving and awe-inspiring that anyone who comes across it will surely pause for a realization. Hope that others more would get to read this. Strongly recommended!
Poverty is the shortage of common things such as food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, all of which determine the quality of life. It may also include the lack of access to opportunities such as education and employment which aid the escape from poverty and/or allow one to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens.

Poverty is the major outcome leading to slow development of country's economy. It should be corrected. It makes people so helpless. Really very bad condition.
To this day, lots of black men and women are still under oppression from hate groups and individuals that have a twisted sense of equality. With our united efforts, let's reclaim the missing, protect the victims, and put the perpetrators behind bars.

Ignorance is bliss indeed. But what hurts us is that there are a lot of people who play blind and deaf to crucial issues that have been claiming lives and urged nations to war from generations before and up to this present day. Sigh*

Global economic crisis this time seems difficult to be solved. It causes not only poverty but also depression. Heard that so many people, especially someone who lost their job, get depression after the money world was crashed.
Dealing with economic aspects of poverty requires a much larger and well-rounded strategy of many kinds of livelihood support, skill development on a public goods model, free access to information and a basic enabling public infrastructure available to all. On the other hand, poverty entails more than the lack of income and productive resources to ensure sustainable livelihoods.

discrimination on women and domestic violence must be eliminated in the face of the society, i creates division on the opposite sex and it degrades the rights of the women to live and treated equally.
climate change must be decreased and those campaigns and advertisements must be minimized. those plant a tree if you purchase a certain product is just an advertisement in order to sell their products.
These problems will never exist especially hunger if cooperation is seen in every citizen. This can't be solved by one man only, the help of everyone is needed.

This is the only place for us to go to bring this issue to the table.[ because it’s one of the few human rights treaties the US has ratified] We need to be on top of the economic stimulus packages. I arrived in time to hear Lindiwe Nkutha speak about the epidemic murders of black lesbians in South Africa. She described the situation with the same women I described in an October blog post. She also referenced violence against women in general and mentioned the rape trial where “the man who is soon to become President of South Africa was acquitted.” Ms. Nkutha ended by sharing this moving poem she composed:
So my friend and roommate (for the last couple of days) Kaleema and I went into a café as I was swooning from not having eaten all day. So as we made our purchases the shop proprietor asked us about the conference. We shared a bit, but mostly I just concentrated on staying upright. Then he says, “Me, I don’t really think racism is that bad here or in America.” Now this was one of those times where, though it was a potential teaching moment, all I could think was where I was going to get my next meal and how soon I could get there. The café was only my juice place.

Well i think that there has been a resurgence of hate speech and hate crimes. Racial discrimination is embedded in all institutions that govern our lives. Discrimination serves to mask its own very existence.

Post is nicely written and it contains many good things for me. I am glad to find your impressive way of writing the post. Now it become easy for me to understand and implement the concept. Thanks for sharing the post.
The principle is simple, if USA is facing a crisis, within no time, the rest of the world is also facing a crisis. Racial discrimination & Poverty are two things that are tough for the government to control, it is we, the public together who has to take the efforts to pay our contributions towards these circumstances.
Such an eyeopening post. Hope that other people would get to read this and widen their vision of racism and gender equality. Racism and sexism should be abolished in order to give way to fairness, equality, and a better living experience for us all.

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer.
When asked to define “great” he said, “I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!”
He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
A husband and his wife who have been married 20 years were doing some yard work. The man was working hard cleaning the BBQ grill while his wife was bending over, weeding flowers from the flower bed.
So the man says to his wife “Your rear end is almost as wide as this grill!” She ignores the remark.
Later that night while in bed, her husband starts to feel frisky. The wife calmly responds, “If you think I'm gonna fire up the grill for one little wiener, you are sadly mistaken.”

Yes Poverty is such a sad thins. A life of poverty means that basic needs go unfulfilled, and fundamental human rights are violated.More than 1 billion people live in poverty around the world, and a great majority of them are women. Women's poverty results in widespread violations of their human rights. When a woman faces a lack of access to adequate housing, food, or health care, her human rights are violated. When she lives in an unsafe and unhealthy environment or lacks access to clean water, she is not enjoying her fundamental human rights to a life of dignity and to an adequate standard of living.

absolutely poverty is a horrible situation that has gotten worse around the world with our global recession. To blame it on capitalism though I think is a far stretch. There are countries that don't head the capitalism model that are knee deep in poverty. Throwing money at a situation doesn't always make it better. Many times it simply perpetuates the problem
Several wealthy nations are most responsible and should pony up the lion’s share and compensate for the harm we’ve caused. We have to put in our mind that “children are starving from the boroughs of New York to the favelas of Brazil to the hinterland of Africa, while our women are walking for miles to get water in Botswana and being sexually assaulted during Katrina in the US.” Kostenlose browsergames
Well i think that with the historical and current deeds as well as the geopolitical position of the US being what they are, my being here and engaging in exchanges with the Petateras and the thousands of others who are here united towards lifting issues of regional and global significance, is key.

POVERTY is NOT ILLEGAL. But its time that govts should make this illegal and only afterr that things will become better. Nice thoughts.

It amazes me that in 2010 we still don't have poverty under control. In fact, we have such a range of 'haves' and 'have nots' in the world and we still can't distribute money to help those most in need. Thank you for bringing these important facts to attention.
I completely agree with the above comment, the internet is with a doubt growing into the most important medium of communication across the globe and its due to sites like this that ideas are spreading so quickly.

Can't believe it…there is such a gap between the haves and have nots, this is definitely an issue that must be tackled. Thanks for posting this informative, but shocking, article.

“…the threat of climate change is a clear and present and scientifically proven danger…” We all should unite to clean our world. Let's not wait for the end to start. We are indebted to give the next generation a danger-free world.
Identifying more opportunities is a good approach to extend help. Outreaching without a solid base of good information is like going into war without the right weapon.

Women of color united is more than just a network to fight discrimination against women. It also engages in human rights and social change movements. Issues like this remind me of blackplanet.com/99ProblemsDotorg. We need more committed individuals to educated people about the problems we are facing.
There is this great site that brings up the issue of domestic violence.

Poverty is not unusual for almost all of us. But if we'll work hard, we can avoid ourselves from being poor. There are also options that we can choose if just in case we need money like loaning. This is such a great help for everyone, even businessmen have loans.
This is really great thing to know that communities like this are educating people time to time on important things!

Poverty is the shortage of common things such as food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, all of which determine the quality of life. It may also include the lack of access to opportunities such as education and employment which aid the escape from poverty and/or allow one to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens.
Thanks

I wonder what's the latest for this event? I find these an awesome way to mingle with different people from all walks of life.
Poverty is really one of the biggest issue around the world.. A lot of people are suffering in lack of food, water, dress etc.. This happen mostly in continent of Africa.. It's nice to know that there are lots of campaign and charity works that trying to solve this.. I hope the government will awake with their long sleep and solve this problem.. I'm happy that you tackle this issue…
Now in 21st century if someone practice racial discrimination, then its something we should be ashamed of. All are equal.
The global economic crisis has made poverty persist even more, that's why we should work harder, stay in the right direction and make sure every second count so we won't be sucked in in the downward spiral of the economic crisis.

We considered those kids to be role models. We copied their clothes, hair, and maybe most of all, their dances—because what american flag wallpaper dominated the TV screen were kids moving to the beat of our whole generation.

On the other hand, poverty entails more than the lack of income and productive resources to ensure sustainable livelihoods.

there is no surefire way that everyone who is a victim will be taken care of. There were 60 Jamaican women who had to be brought to work every day by employer because they didn’t have a vehicle and they were forgotten during Katrina and buried alive.
I'll post the same information to my blog, thanks for ideas and great article.
like many of Paul Simon’s songs, has rather whimsical prose. One of the lines was “Poor boys and pilgrims and families, and we’re all going to Graceland.” And it goes on to say, “I have reason to believe we all will be received in Graceland.
ou have Obama and then you have all those stars like Halle Berry and Will Smith, etc.” At this point I could tell that Kaleema was fairly bursting to share a few “home truths” as we say in the vernacular, but she restrained herself as well.
Women are the power of every nation. They give strength. This ratio should be strong.
In the pursuit of profit capitalist systems have had to exploit labor/workers and have done this through racism–people of African descent, migrant workers, undocumented works, people deemed to be not as deserving of fair labor standards.
He ardently agreed to vote no on Props 6 and 9 and yes on Measure VV. I asked him to make sure everyone else in the household did the same. Much to my delight, as I walked away I heard the young gentleman giving his own twist in explaining the Propositions to the other occupants of the house.

Schools with highest dropout rates are in 10 cities that are populated by minorities and poor people. The combination of race and poverty is the order of the day in these communities. These are days of miracle and wonder” and it felt so suited to the spirit of the nation and indeed the world! So I belted the words as I drove down the road. The next song was the title track, “Graceland” which, like many of Paul Simon’s songs
So yes, we both missed the moment of potential deeper sharing and the possibility of deepened mutual understanding to be sure, and for rather base reasons of wanting to get out and find food, but I really wonder what we could have said to turn his mind or at least provoke him to open his eyes a bit more.
So how’s that going?” I said, “The conference?” even though I assumed that’s what he meant and was ready to give him a brief review. But then he said, “No, racism. Is that pretty big all over?” I looked at him, cocked my head to the side

Great post.
discrimination on women and domestic violence must be eliminated in the face of the society, i creates division on the opposite sex and it degrades the rights of the women to live and treated equally.
climate change must be decreased and those campaigns and advertisements must be minimized. those plant a tree if you purchase a certain product is just an advertisement in order to sell their products.
this is nice catch very well written article, i dont know the words to say to give you thanks.

Obama has not focused on closing these disparate gaps. I would like to see a national action plan on racial justice.
Cheers
I strongly feel that Racism is a social evil. It is hurting our society . It must be come to an end.
Racism is a social evil. Now a days it is spreading like a virus. We should take steps to finish this soon.
Quite an interesting conversation!! I am waiting for your videos to be posted……
sometimes the problem isn't on the government but the people itself, if they only plan to make way on how to survive this in this recession.. it'll be much better.
It really hearts me when I listen that racism still exists in this world!!

Things have got worsen rather than showing any improvement..but we do have hope after Obama has been selected as a President…Lets see what future holds for everyone….
What to say about Racism? This is a social evil. It must come to an end. But different people have different opinions about this. No one is to blame.

I agree, it's such a trap. I remember reading somewhere years ago that 90% of people will die in the same social class they were born into. It takes a very strong person to be able to break out of it, no matter what color their skin is.

Poverty is a very difficult thing to overcome for anyone. If you're born into it, it's nearly impossible to drastically change your way of life in one generation. Sad, but it's been proven true in so many cases.

I think the EPA needs to do more to educate people on the way their environment to make them sick. Poisoned communities is something we think of in terms of Chernobyl, but it happens in the states as well!
Must have been an interesting conversation about Cuba. I do think, with the western world increasingly interested in moving away from oil that creating a diversified economy would certainly be the smart long term move-although it is more difficult.

I think we all should help each other in the time of crisis to get rid of racial discrimination. Only this way we can get rid poverty too. RIght?
You are entitled for your opinion. Whatever your reason I know it has a basis. thanks for posting your idea.

The information is nicely written in post, I am happy to find many useful facts, Thanks for sharing.
Women are the power of every nation. They give strength. This ratio should be strong.
Continuing in the tradition of moving towards liberation, there seems to be many women’s groups who are organizing around this election.
there are still hope for every people, and this just shows how much obama really cares for little ones! he's really a nice leader.
I appreciate the efforts to create awareness about AIDS, I think we need to do these kind of activities in order to safe our next generation. Thanks
We could even setup online schools and virtual environments for intercultural exchange. There are several project being done at the moment, but expanding is not a bad idea.
This is an inspiring article.
What an interesting Register and style campaign… very bizarre for us
Well nicely written post about HIV, I think we need to start some program to create awareness about the Aids and HIV. We have to do this. Thanks

Have a nice day

A husband and his wife who have been married 20 years were doing some yard work. The man was working hard cleaning the BBQ grill while his wife was bending over, weeding flowers from the flower bed.
So the man says to his wife “Your rear end is almost as wide as this grill!” She ignores the remark.
Later that night while in bed, her husband starts to feel frisky. The wife calmly responds, “If you think I'm gonna fire up the grill for one little wiener, you are sadly mistaken.”

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That’s a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don’t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.

When she lives in an unsafe and unhealthy environment or lacks access to clean water, she is not enjoying her fundamental human rights to a life of dignity and to an adequate standard of living.

nice article. great job.
absolutely poverty is a horrible situation that has gotten worse around the world with our global recession.

It's nice to know there are a lot of campaign and charitable works must try to resolve this .. I hope the government wakes up with his long sleep and solve this problem .. I am happy to address this issue.

your these lines are incredible,
Poverty is not illegal. It’s absolutely acceptable, which is why they create policies that are neutral on their face, but are detrimental to communities. POVERTY is NOT ILLEGAL. But its time that govts should make this illegal and only afterr that things will become better. Nice thoughts.

This article provides some thought-provoking stats regarding poverty…those outside the US see a propserous and strong nation but the media persona belies an unbelievable number of people below the poverty line who are struggling to obtain the basic necessities in life.
Well i think many women are hidden workers either through being undocumented or women working in the home.
Shocking statistics, thanks for sharing. Let's hope this cause continues to get attention as something needs to be done.
At this point I could tell that Kaleema was fairly bursting to share a few “home truths” as we say in the vernacular, but she restrained herself as well. He went on to say, “The real racism is in the Middle East. That’s where racism is really happening.” We just looked on neutrally and vaguely murmured at this last bit saying something benign like, “Yes, the situation there is certainly tough.”

It amazes me that in 2010 we still don't have poverty under control. In fact, we have such a range of 'haves' and 'have nots' in the world and we still can't distribute money to help those most in need. Thank you for bringing these important facts to attention.
